Scribens is a very handy online tool for checking the spelling, grammar and syntax of a text. Whatever your level, to argue about the dangerousness of vehicles without drivers or to write a postcard, Scribens will propose you corrections and to consult, in French, the rules of grammar or spelling, according to your errors.
As you can see with this example, be careful when it comes to accent errors or with homophones (words with different meanings, but with identical pronunciation): « un havre » (a shelter) and « Le Havre » (city of northern France) make no difference to him.
Again, be careful also with conjugation : in the same example, if you write « préfèrent » instead of « préfère », it won’t see the difference because there is « Elles » in the sentence. It’s not really or even artificially intelligent, it’s just convenient ! Control your text by yourself to the maximum, then check with Scribens.

How it works ?
You type your text directly in the window of the page scribens.fr or you do a copy and paste from your word processor, then you click "Vérifier". Errors appear underlined in blue, green, yellow or red. Click on the underlined parts of the text to see suggestions for corrections and the rules to be consulted.
Obviously, such a service does not replace your teacher. He alone will be able to explain to you the origin of your errors according to your mother tongue and especially how to avoid them in the future.
